A CASE STORY

"I've been looking for my dream TV for months, but I've always been put off by the price. Then I found an online shop where the TV was a third of the price! I bought it on the spot. But not only did the TV never arrive, almost 40,000 CZK suddenly disappeared from my bank account. I strongly suggest you be careful when shopping online, you never know who´s on the other side."

Fishing or Phishing

Phishing is an online attack through which unknown criminals can cause you considerable financial damage. Attackers often try to put the victim under pressure so that they do not have time to think and check the information sent and provide the required data. Often they use the Packeta logo, fake websites, or fraudulent email addresses that misuse the company name. We want to protect you from phishing attacks, so here is an overview of the most common tactics used by scammers. Keep your finances safe!

VERIFYING THE CREDIBILITY OF THE SITE

GUIDE: How not to fall for scammers

1. fraudulent PAYMENT

Fraudulent payment gateways often use garbled company names like Zásilkovna to trick money out of you. See examples on the left of the type: http://zasilkovna-cz.order5702

Remember: as Zásilkovna, we will never ask you for money through dubious internet links, Facebook chats and bazaars. You can ALWAYS pay online payment for sending a parcel securely only in the Zásilkovna app or offline, see the cases below!

The golden rule is to never open suspicious links from e-mails and text messages that come from unknown addresses and numbers, and never enter sensitive or payment information.

1. correct PAYMENT

The most important rule!:

Use ONLY our app to pay for our services online. It is the only official and safe way.

Official and safe payment methods at Zásilkovna - 2 types:

ONLINE: for sending the parcel in the case of the sender through the payment gateway in our mobile application

OFFLINE: cash on delivery for the parcel in the case of the recipient. Cash on delivery can be paid 1. in the Zásilkovna mobile application, 2. at the pick-up point (via a card or mobile terminal, or in cash), 3. with our driver who delivers the parcel to your address (via a card or mobile terminal, or in cash).

2. fraudulent SMS

Recently, there has been a significant increase in fraudulent messages. These messages often remind you of delivery companies (e.g. Zásilkovna) or your bank, or entice you to win a prize, etc. The common goal is clear - to get information from you about your payment card, internet banking or other sensitive information.

You can see other examples of fraud HERE.

2. correct SMS

We will NEVER, really NEVER, ask you to pay via SMS.

As Zásilkovna, we only send you general information about the delivery of the package via SMS, so always make sure that you are expecting the parcel and check it on our official website (tracking.app.packeta.com). If you haven't ordered anything or someone close to you hasn't sent you anything, don't click on suspicious links.

3. fraudulent E-MAIL

Do you sell goods at bazaars or marketplaces? Have you received a call from an interested party saying that he will send you the money for the goods by payment via Zásilkovna? And will it require your email address? It's a scam.

Did you get an email? Note the sender's name and email address. Fraudulent e-mails often try to imitate the genuine sender with distortions, see the example on the left: zasilkovna@post-deliv.live.

You can see specific examples HERE.

3. correct E-MAIL

Correct e-mails always end with the company name @zasilkovna.cz/@packeta.com

Official e-mail addresses always end with the company designation @zasilkovna.cz, or a derivative of the relevant foreign branch (SK, HU, DE, RO, PL) if you are sending or expecting a parcel from abroad. Other email addresses are not official addresses.

Remember! tracking.app.packeta.com = correct tracking link
