Customs duty

Customs duty or customs fee is a monetary fee collected by the state at the import of particular goods through its customs border. It serves as a so-called protection fee - to protect the state’s domestic market from the goods from other countries. Whether and under what circumstances the given goods are subject to customs duty is determined by the law or the customs tariff of the given country.
